Terms and Conditions of Booth Law
Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 8/20/2026
Last Updated: 8/20/2026
These Terms and Conditions of Use govern your use of booth.law and any related pages, guides, or forms operated by Booth Law ("Booth Law," "the firm," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read them before using the site.
By using this website you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. This website is information, not legal advice
Everything on booth.law, including our practice area pages, blog posts, guides, case studies, and frequently asked questions, is general information about California law and about our firm. It is not legal advice and it is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer who knows the facts of your situation.
The law changes, it applies differently to different facts, and a page written for a general audience cannot account for yours. Do not act, or decide not to act, based on anything you read here. Talk to a lawyer about your specific circumstances.
2. Using this site does not make us your lawyers
No attorney-client relationship is created by visiting this website, reading anything on it, submitting a form, sending an email, or calling us. An attorney-client relationship with Booth Law begins only when we have completed a conflicts check, agreed to take your matter, and both sides have signed a written retainer agreement.
Until that happens, we are not your lawyers, we are not monitoring deadlines for you, and we are not responsible for your case.
3. Do not send us confidential information through this website
This is the most important paragraph on this page, so we will be direct about it.
Information you send us through this website before we have agreed to represent you may not be protected as confidential or privileged. We may already represent someone on the other side of your matter, or have a conflict we do not yet know about, which is exactly what a conflicts check is for. Until that check is done we cannot promise to keep what you send us confidential, and we cannot promise not to use it.
So please keep your first message brief. Tell us who you are, how to reach you, and the general nature of what happened. That is enough for us to run a conflicts check and call you back. We will tell you when it is appropriate to share the full details, and that conversation should happen by phone or in person, not through a web form.
If you are already represented by another lawyer on this matter, please do not send us information about it without speaking to your lawyer first.
4. Legal deadlines are real and some of them are very short
California law puts strict time limits on the right to bring a claim. If you miss the deadline that applies to you, your claim can be lost permanently no matter how strong it is.
Some of these deadlines are much shorter than people expect. Claims against a public entity, which includes a county child protective services agency, a school district, a police department, or a public hospital, generally require a written government claim to be presented within a short statutory window measured in months, not years. Other claims, including some involving childhood sexual assault, are governed by their own special rules.
Nothing on this website tells you what deadline applies to you, and nothing on this website pauses, extends, or preserves any deadline. Sending us a form does not protect your rights. If you think you may have a claim, speak to a lawyer promptly, whether that is us or someone else.
5. Attorney advertising
This website is a communication about legal services within the meaning of the California Rules of Professional Conduct, and parts of it may be considered attorney advertising. Booth Law is responsible for its content. Roger E. Booth is responsible for the content of this website.
6. Case results and prior outcomes
This website describes verdicts, settlements, and other results Booth Law has obtained. We are proud of them, and we also want to be clear about what they do and do not tell you.
The results portrayed on this website were dependent on the facts of those cases, and the results will differ if based on different facts.
Every case turns on its own evidence, its own defendants, its own insurance coverage, and its own jury. Past results are not a guarantee, a warranty, or a prediction of the outcome of any other matter, including yours. The amounts described are gross recoveries before the deduction of attorneys' fees, costs, and liens, unless a particular page says otherwise.
7. Testimonials and endorsements
This website includes testimonials and endorsements from former clients and from other attorneys.
This testimonial or endorsement does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or prediction regarding the outcome of your legal matter.
Testimonials reflect the experience of the individual who gave them and are not necessarily representative of the experience of every client. They were not paid for. Names and identifying details in client testimonials may have been shortened or changed to protect privacy, particularly in abuse matters.
8. Where we are licensed to practice
Booth Law is a California law firm. Our attorneys are licensed to practice in the State of California. We do not hold ourselves out as experts in the law of any other state, and nothing on this website is an offer to represent anyone in a jurisdiction where we are not authorized to practice.
We do handle matters outside California from time to time, in association with local counsel or by admission for a particular case where the court allows it. If your matter arose outside California, contact us and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right firm for it.
9. Referrals and co-counsel
A large share of our work comes to us on referral from other attorneys, and we often try cases as co-counsel. Where we share fees with another lawyer who is not in our firm, we do so only in the manner California law permits, which requires the client's written consent after full written disclosure of the arrangement, and never in a way that increases the total fee the client pays.
If you are an attorney considering a referral, the terms of any association will be set out in a separate written agreement between the firms. Nothing on this website creates one.
10. Our content, and what you may do with it
The text, photographs, video, graphics, page design, logos, and the Booth Law name on this website are owned by Booth Law or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may read, print, and share pages from this site for your own personal, non-commercial use, including sending a page to a friend or family member who might find it useful, as long as you do not remove any copyright or attribution notice.
You may not copy, republish, sell, or redistribute our content commercially, present it as your own, or use it to build or train a competing service, without our written permission. If you would like to quote or reproduce something from this site, ask us. We are usually happy to say yes.
11. Things you agree not to do
When using this website, you agree not to:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its server, or any connected system
- Introduce malware, or attempt to interfere with the site's operation or security
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or contact information from the site
- Use automated systems to submit forms, or submit false or misleading information
- Use any part of the site to solicit our clients or prospective clients
12. Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, including courts, government agencies, news coverage, medical and advocacy resources, and professional organizations. We provide those links because we think they are useful. We do not control those sites, we do not endorse everything on them, and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices. Review their own terms and privacy policies before relying on them or giving them information.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have, including the rights available to California residents. It is part of these Terms and is available at booth.law/privacy-policy/.
14. Accessibility
We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

15. No warranties
This website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that the content is complete, current, or free of error, or that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Booth Law and its attorneys and staff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website, or your reliance on anything published here.
Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited under California law, and nothing in it applies to the professional obligations we owe to an actual client under a signed retainer agreement. Those obligations are governed by that agreement and by the California Rules of Professional Conduct, not by this page.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Booth Law harmless from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your misuse of this website, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of anyone's rights through your use of the site.
18. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on this website infringes your copyright, send a written notice to the address in Section 21 that identifies the copyrighted work, identifies the material you say is infringing and where it appears on the site, gives your contact information, and includes a statement made under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner. We will review it promptly and remove or disable anything that should not be there.
19. Changes to the site and to these Terms
We may update, add to, or remove content from this website at any time, and we may revise these Terms as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and post the revised version here.
Changes apply going forward from the date they are posted. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised Terms. If a change is significant, we will note it clearly at the top of this page for a reasonable period.
20. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of this website will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
21. General
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable provision is modified only to the extent needed to make it enforceable.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision on one occasion, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger or transfer of the practice.
Survival. Sections 1 through 4 and 10 through 20 survive any termination of your use of the site.
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Booth Law regarding this website. They do not affect, and are not affected by, any retainer agreement between you and the firm.
Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
